Karen and the Honorable Walter Urick started this fund to support the mission of the Oceana County Historical & Genealogical Society. Tracing family legacies is a Society cornerstone and is one of Karen's life interests. "We felt it was important to leave something for the community, to help make it a better place. Sometimes people feel they have to give great amounts, but the beauty of a community foundation is that no amount is too small - together we can support our community," said Karen. The fund is used for the general support and operations of the Society.
