To support the Fountain Hill Center for Counseling and Consultation Lakeshore Office in Oceana County.
Story
The Fountain Hill Center has been providing quality, counseling and consultation services to people of Oceana County since 2002. Initially their work began through a partnership with the New Era Reformed Church in an effort to assess and council members and friends of that congregation. At that time, one therapist saw clients there about five hours each week. These services have since expanded and they now offer counseling services approximately 30 hours each week and have 3-5 therapists that work out of their office. The therapists that see clients in the New Era office are able to work with individuals, couples, adults, and children dealing with a wide range of issues. The Center also supports Oceana County's CASA program, short for Court Appointed Special Advocates, dedicated to advocating for the best interests of Oceana's abused and neglected children. CASA recruits and trains volunteers to serve as court-appointed advocates for children involved in the foster care and child welfare system. CASA volunteers work closely with children, their families, and professionals involved in their cases to provide the courts with comprehensive information and recommendations, ultimately striving to ensure that these vulnerable children find safe, stable, and nurturing homes where their well-being is a top priority.
