Purpose

Story
Gerald Malburg was a devoted public servant and lifelong farmer in Weare Township. He served on many boards and associations, including the Pentwater School Board, Oceana County Board of Commissioners, and various state & regional agricultural boards. Gerald was a graduate of Hart High School and Ferris State University. He was an outgoing and creative person, enjoying creating farming equipment, college sports, and being a mechanic for snowmobile teams. Upon his passing in 2012, the family wanted to honor his legacy in the farming community and civic leadership. The Gerald L. Malburg Scholarship Fund assists students in their higher education goals, with a special interest in supporting agricultural studies. The scholarship is open to all students in Oceana County, with a preference towards Pentwater graduates.
