Story
Edwin Johnson was a lifelong Golden Township resident and servant. Edwin earned his teaching credentials at the University of Michigan, served his country during WWII, taught biology, chemistry, and physics at Hart Public Schools, and was a devoted public official. He was the Golden Township Clerk for 45 years. He also planted trees for the future - recognizing that many of the lovely old trees lining the streets of Mears would soon die, he planted new trees to grow in their place. His wife, family, and friends created the Edwin Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund after his passing in 2009. His scholarship supports graduating seniors from Hart High School that have demonstrated community service and leadership and a strong work ethic.
