Purpose
This Fund supports projects and programs in Pentwater in memory of Carol Oxford (Mrs. O) and Raymond Oxford.

Story
Carol and Ray first came to Pentwater from Westland in 1969. They pinched pennies to purchase the Twin Silos property and spent countless weekends — along with hunting and fishing seasons — in Pentwater before moving permanently in 1994. Their love of fun and fellowship earned them many friends in the community. They were often found visiting local establishments, playing cards with friends, or tending to the preservation and improvement of their ponderosa. No one was ever unwelcome; their door — and their day — were always open. Carol, known to many as Mrs. O, spread joy wherever she went. She volunteered with Pentwater Schools, played music on the green with the String a Longs, at the beach, and in local nursing homes, ran the Methodist Church sound system, helped with VBS, taught line dancing at the Friendship Center, and danced as many nights a week as she could with the Bootscooters. She was also known as quite the card shark at Euchre night at the Catholic church. In their memory, Carol and Ray’s family and friends established the For the Love of Pentwater Fund to support programs that spark fun, fellowship, and community connection throughout Pentwater.
