Story
George has been through many trials and tribulations throughout his life due to his ongoing medical needs, but he never complained or let it stop him from living life to the fullest. George loved adventures, even going on a Para flight and riding in a sidecar of a motorcycle. After graduating from Shelby Public Schools in 2001 , he wanted to stay part of the school system as he loved being a tiger! He began volunteering at Shelby Elementary where he would help in any capacity he could while he socialized. George will never know the countless lives he touched and the things that he taught us while on this earth. He was loved and respected by many including all the medical professionals he came in contact with over his life. With his multiple stays in the hospital, the medical professionals became George’s extended family. Our hope is that the scholarship recipient becomes “family” for the people they come across in their medical professions. The family has established this scholarship to carry on his legacy of hope, compassion, and love that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
