Caitlin Nichole Walter Memorial Scholarship
Caitlin Nichole Walter, 21, of Hagerstown, Indiana, died unexpectedly May 13, 2009 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Caitlin had a sparkling personality, dancing blue eyes and a ready smile. She loved photography and to travel, and participated in HOSA, sports, band and National Honor Society while in high school. After graduation, she attended Indiana University - Purdue University of Indianapolis and the University of Indianapolis, majoring in Physical Therapy. Caitlin came from a single-parent household and, always aware of the challenges that presented for her mother, was a staunch supporter of the needs of her family. This scholarship was created in 2015 to memorialize her kind, caring spirit and to acknowledge those well-rounded students who have faced adversity, worked hard to maintain their grades while participating in extra-curricular activities and/or worked to support themselves and their family.
The applicant must be:
• a graduate of a high school located in Ohio - Darke, Montgomery, Preble or
Indiana - Fayette, Franklin, Henry, Randolph, Rush, Union, Wayne;
• a full-time student accepted into/enrolled in a physical therapy or pharmacy program; and
• a compassionate, well-rounded student who works and/or participates in extra-curricular activities while attending college and who exemplifies Caitlin’s ‘can do’ attitude.
Preference will be given to students with financial need.
