Purpose
The Meissens moved to Madison from humble Durand, Illinois in 1963. Departing a tight-knit community of family farmers, Marv and Pat went on to tend growing schools and to raise an abundance of future educators in the "big city". Their five children each became influential local teachers, school leaders and administrators. The Meissen, Brown and Dunn Family Giving Fund was established in 2015 with the seed-funds of Marv and Pat Meissen,Terry Meissen, and Nathan Brown, as a program of family giving via MCF-endowed, annual charitable grants to the community. Roots in the ground to pass to the ready hands of future generations.
