Nika Marie Social Impact Scholarship
Purpose
Forever we remember the legacy of Nika Marie, an accomplished champion of social impact in the Grand Rapids area. Her life was tragically cut short at the age of 30 after a four-year battle with cancer. With deep roots in the nonprofit world, Nika joined the CARNEVALE team in 2018 and quickly became a catalyst for transformation. Within months, she evolved the company’s long-standing pro bono initiative into a formal division that would become the foundation for what is now Tech Collaborative. This new vision not only reflected the spirit of cooperation between our organization and the community, but also established a clear model for bridging the gap between nonprofit missions and non-traditional talent and tech solutions and careers. Through the Nika Marie Social Impact Scholarship, we carry forward her vision by supporting students who face the greatest barriers to equitable access in education. Nika was passionate, intelligent, and relentless in her pursuit of meaningful change. While her time with us was far too short, her impact continues to grow. With your support, her legacy lives on.
