Faye Berry Memorial Scholarship
Purpose
Faye Berry was a widely respected 65-year resident of Marshall who started her career as a kindergarten teacher and retired from CISD as a school psychologist; she also fulfilled her civic duty by serving on the Marshall City Council for eight years, and graciously opened her “Hillside” home for the Marshall Historic Home Tour six times. Faye was brilliant at solving the mysteries of why students had difficulty learning and took professional joy in helping children become successful while changing their self-image. This scholarship was created to help promote the next generation of educators who wish to help students “blossom”—particularly (but not limited to) those who may be interested in eventually becoming a School Psychologist or any other part of the “Special Education-related services personnel” team (Special Education Teacher, or school-based Counselor, Social Worker, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist, or Therapeutic Recreational Specialist).
