Adam Learn #27 Memorial Scholarship Fund

In memory of Adam Jacob, this scholarship was established by Adam’s parents, Monty and Vicki Learn, to honor the life that he lived. Adam was an avid outdoorsman. He could often be found hunting, fishing, shooting his bow and guns, skiing, swimming, riding his four-wheeler and snowmobiles. He was also an excellent athlete and wore the number #27. He excelled at several sports including football, baseball, soccer, and bowling. This scholarship honors students who embody Adam’s active spirit and positive character.

Austin Stemen Scholarship for the Trades

Austin Stemen was born and raised in Sturgis. He graduated from Sturgis High School in 2018, and just four months later purchased a home with his savings. He was always a hard worker who loved building things and working with his hands. Austin was a “fixer” – he looked at things in a different way than many of his peers. He always wanted to know what made things “tick”. He loved to analyze how to take things apart and put them back together. Austin’s love for the trades began at a young age. In 7th grade, he won the Michigan Industrial Technology Education Society (MITES) 1st place Regional Award and placed 3rd in State for his Wood Coffee Table with a glass display top. In 8th grade he won the first-place Regional and the State Grand Award for Excellence in Craftmanship for his outdoor wrought iron firepit. Later, at the high school level, he continued classes in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), Manufacturing Technology and the Building Trades programs. During his senior year, he volunteered as a mentor for the high school Robotics team and dedicated time to mentoring younger students in manufacturing technology classes. To honor his memory and passion, this scholarship was established to provide support to students pursuing careers in trades.

Betty Lambertson Scholarship Fund

Elizabeth “Betty” Lambertson was born November 18, 1917, in Three Rivers, Michigan to Adam and Margaret Armstrong. Betty was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Elks Club. She also volunteered for many years at the Three Rivers Area Hospital in the snack shop. This scholarship is possible as a result of both Betty’s modest lifestyle and her philanthropic gift. This scholarship is to assist students with their future goals and create a life that Betty would be proud of Betty Lambertson lived a life marked by service, education, and community involvement. Her modest lifestyle and generous spirit make this scholarship possible.

David Stuck Founders Scholarship

The David T. Stuck Founders Scholarship Fund honors the life and legacy of David T. Stuck, a lifelong servant leader whose quiet dedication helped shape the Three Rivers community. A World War II veteran and Western Michigan University graduate, David returned home to co-found Fibre Converters in 1949 and played key roles in establishing Riverside Church, Lights of Love, People’s Community Bank, and the Three Rivers Area Community Foundation. Created by the Stuck family, the scholarship reflects David’s belief in education as a pathway to opportunity and supports students who demonstrate academic achievement, community service, and a commitment to living with integrity, kindness, and purpose.
