Fund Description
The Urban Farm Fund at the Baltimore Community Foundation was started in 2021 by family members to honor the legacy of Francis N. Iglehart, Jr. and Harriet Austen Stokes Iglehart of furthering the work of anti-racism and agricultural environmentalism. Urban farms give food-insecure neighborhoods access to healthy food, independent of the industrial food system, promote mutual aid and community-building as well as support biodiversity and green space for urban wildlife. The Urban Farm Fund at BCF will support farms in Baltimore that are dedicated to food sovereignty and sustainable agricultural practices.
