Fund Description
The William E. and Mary P. McGuirk Memorial Fund honors the legacy of Bill and Mary McGuirk by supporting a permanent endowment for the newly developed Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Baltimore City. This fund, established by the family upon the death of Mr. McGuirk in 2005, provides an annual stipend, in perpetuity, for the Cristo Rey Jesuit High School. Cristo Rey Jesuit is a new urban idea steeped in old values: opportunity, responsibility and forming young men and women for others. Cristo Rey offers a rigorous academic program based on the highest human values, including work. In partnership with local corporations, students work five days each month to earn their education and to forge ties to the business world for life. In the classroom, students learn about the world, and their role in it as leaders. Mr. and Mrs. McGuirk were important benefactors to many organizations in the Baltimore area, including Baltimore's Catholic Archdiocese and the St. Ignatius Loyola Academy Middle School. They believed in providing opportunities to those less fortunate. Your gift will help maintain a permanent source of funding for the new Cristo Rey Jesuit High School in Baltimore.
