Carolyn Lalas Music Scholarship Endowment Fund

The Carolyn Lalas Music Scholarship Endowment Fund was established December 13, 1996 as a scholarship fund to make a lasting difference in our community. The income of the Fund will be distributed at least annually for music scholarships for students of Ishpeming High School as the Foundation may determine.

Christine Pesola Donor Advised Fund

The Christine Pesola Donor Advised Fund was established November 30, 2015 as a donor advised fund to make a lasting difference in our community. The donor will serve as the Advisor to the DAF. Upon death, the Fund is to be maintained as an endowed fund with distributions made as follows: 25% - For charitable purposes providing matching funds for projects in Marquette County. 25% - For charitable purposes specifically benefiting the Arts in Marquette County 25% - For charitable purposes specifically benefiting education in the medical/nursing field. 25% - For general charitable purposes of greatest need.

Leah Andrews Choral Scholarship Fund

To cover tuition and/or required supplies for students to attend a choral summer music camp during the summer after 6th, 7th, 8th, or 9th grade.

Nancy E. Wiseman Seminoff Donor Advised Fund

The purpose of the Fund will be to provide financial support for organizations and institutions in Marquette County that address directly or indirectly the educational, cultural and humane needs of the area. Examples include, but are not limited to: a) educational institutions (such as libraries, schools, and universities), and programs that are intended to improve literacy, and enhance civic and/or cultural understanding; b) museums, history centers, visual and performing arts functions and instructional programs for all age groups; and c) animal, homeless, and women's shelters and educational programs and activities to increase support of them.

Rod and Holly Aldrich Donor Advised Fund

The Fund is endowed, meaning that the Founding Donor intends that it exist into perpetuity. The amount of the Fund that will be appropriated for expenditure or accumulated is subject to the Community Foundation's Spending Policy, which is subject to change by the Community Foundation from time to time, and to the Community Foundation's variance power. Subject to the other terms and conditions of the Agreement and applicable law, distributions from the Fund may be made only for charitable purposes within Sections 170(c) of the Code, as determined in the sole discretion of the Community Foundation. Priority may be given to distributions for purposes of education, arts and culture, youth, community building, recovery and basic needs.

To provide financial assistance to graduating seniors of Negaunee High School who will be pursuing certification or a degree at an institution of higher education in the field of music.

To provide financial assistance to graduating seniors of Negaunee High School who participated in the music program and will be pursuing certification or a degree at an institution of higher education. Preference will be given to those who are entering into the music field.

The Johanna Pohjala Fund for Weavers

To provide scholarships to persons pursuing post-secondary education in textile arts, either at colleges/universities or at trade schools/special programs. In the alternative, the Fund shall provide financial support for programs of instruction in textile arts that are sponsored by charitable and governmental organizations, which serve the residents of Marquette County

The Norman and Dolores Jacobson Family Music Endowment Fund

To provide supplemental funding to benefit the music program at the Ishpeming School District. The annual distribution from the Fund shall not replace what should be equitably budgeted to the music program.

The Paul W. and Pearl K. Goodman Music Scholarship Fund

To provide for instrumental and vocal music lessons for individuals attending the NICE School District and in grades 3 to 10 based on financial need, with the potential to expand the scholarship opportunity to the Ishpeming and Negaunee School Districts. If any or all of the three schools districts cease to exist, the annual distribution shall be used for the same purpose for the school district that serves the students of the above three.

Valente Family Music and Art

The scholarship will be awarded annually to one eligible applicant in the amount determined in accordance with the Foundation's spending policy. As assets grow, the Foundation may elect to increase the grant amount or award additional scholarships. To be eligible, applicants must meet these criteria: - Graduating senior of Gwinn High School. - Pursuing post-secondary education. - Involved in high school in music or art. - Shows kindness and empathy for others - No GPA requirement.
