Purpose
The Michael and Diana Tousignant Scholarship is given to a graduating senior of the Ishpeming High School with a documented language-based learning disability such as dyslexia, but not limited to dyslexia. ADHD alone does not qualify. The successful applicant must have shown strength in character and determination to succeed while overcoming obstacles to their learning disability. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a scale of 4 to be eligible to apply. Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year university or enrolled in a recognized vocational/trade school. The application must include the applicant's transcripts, a personal essay and may also include a recommendation letter.
