Story of the Fund
U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski served the people of northern Indiana with deep compassion, energy, and faith. Before she became a public servant, Jackie was a missionary in Romania, where she and her husband worked with impoverished children and provided medical care and food. Her life’s work was rooted in a calling to serve others—first through ministry and later through advocacy and legislation.

Jackie’s belief in servant leadership carried her into roles in the Indiana Statehouse and ultimately the U.S. House of Representatives, where she championed causes such as child welfare, education, and global hunger relief. Even while navigating the political sphere, she remained grounded in her Christian faith and used it as a compass to guide her public service.

The Jackie Walorski Memorial Ministry Scholarship was created to honor her lifelong commitment to faith in action. It supports students who feel a similar calling to ministry, missions, or teaching—fields that Jackie believed had the power to transform lives and strengthen communities. Her legacy continues to inspire a new generation of servant leaders.
