Purpose
The Peggy Stencel Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Peggy, who owned and operated the Lakeside A&W for 25 years. Peggy was passionate about mentoring young adults and teaching them the value of hard work, employing countless high school students over the years. This scholarship is awarded to Sanilac County high school graduates who have demonstrated excellence in leadership, work ethic, and commitment to community. They must have also maintained a minimun GPA of 3.0 and be pursuing a career in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), Business, Healthcare or Law. Peggy always supported young adults in their pursuit of higher education, and this scholarship will allow her to continue that legacy.
