Purpose
The Sanilac County Patriotic Endowment Fund was established to provide lasting financial support for the care, preservation, and enhancement of the monuments located on the Sanilac County Courthouse lawn. Created following the establishment of the Wall of Honor—made possible in part through the Sefton-Leggett Legacy Fund—this endowment reflects the community’s deep respect for the men and women who have served our country. Earnings from the fund also support the Flags of Remembrance Project, helping ensure this meaningful tribute continues to honor veterans and strengthen community awareness of their service and sacrifice. By building a permanent source of funding, the endowment safeguards these important symbols of patriotism while promoting ongoing stewardship of the courthouse grounds.
