Purpose
The Lee and Thelma Flannigan Scholarship was established to assist Marlette High School graduates who desire to further their education. Mr. and Mrs. Flannigan both realized the importance of education. As a farmer, GM employee, and a Marlette school bus driver, Mr. Flannigan knew the value of hard work. Mrs. Flannigan was a full-time homemaker in the early years of her marriage and then pursued a career in nursing, being the oldest student in the Licensed Practical Nursing program in Bad Axe. She was a part-time EMT and then an LPN at Marlette Regional Hospital for 18 years. *This scholarship is broken up into multiple installments - one per semester, upon minimun GPA requirement being met.
