Mississippi Wildlife Rehabilitation Endowment

Since 1995, Mississippi Wildlife Rehabilitation has been saving lives, protecting habitats, and inspiring our community through wildlife rehabilitation, education, and conservation. In 2025 alone, we cared for over 1,000 injured and orphaned birds and reptiles and reached nearly 10,000 people through programs that nurture a lifelong love of nature and stewardship. Our trails in DeSoto and Tate counties continue to offer a place of peace and discovery, where families, students, and neighbors can connect with Mississippi’s native wildlife. We are also making exciting progress on the Valery E. Smith Community Nature Center—set to open in 2026—where visitors will meet ambassador raptors, explore interactive exhibits, and witness firsthand the work that has defined our mission for three decades. This Giving Tuesday, you can help us build that future. Your gift will save lives, inspire the next generation of conservationists, and bring our community closer to the wildlife that makes Mississippi extraordinary.
