The Administrative Endowment Fund provides long-term support for the essential operations of the Sanilac County Community Foundation. Earnings from this permanent fund help sustain the day-to-day work that keeps our mission moving forward—from donor services and grantmaking to community outreach and stewardship. By supporting this fund, donors help ensure the Community Foundation remains strong, stable, and deeply connected to the community we serve, allowing us to continue building a brighter future for generations to come.

Albrecht Field Endowment

The Albrecht Field Endowment Fund was established to support improvements, general maintenance and enhancements to Sandusky Community Schools’ Albrecht Field.

Blue Water Habitat For Humanity “Power”

This fund supports Blue Water Habitat for Humanity’s mission and helps make possible the special programs and projects that strengthen the Blue Water area.

Community Endowment

The Community Endowment Fund is a collection of permanent, flexible funds that support grants to enrich local communities, making this a flexible way to ensure donations are used where the needs and opportunities are greatest. Donations not designated for a specific fund automatically go into the Community Endowment Fund, supporting grants that improve and enrich the lives of Sanilac County residents. Grants are distributed twice per year - Spring and Fall.

The Cros-Lex Community Fund was established to support the growth of prosperity in the Cros-Lex area

Chief Dave Hall First Responders

The Chief Dave Hall First Responders Fund was established in memory of Dave Hall, who proudly served Sanilac County for 49 years through the Sanilac County Sheriff Department and the Croswell, Lexington, and Peck police departments. After 30 years with the sheriff department, he retired as a detective-sergeant and went on to serve an additional 17 years as Chief of the Croswell Police Department. Dave passed away in 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. This fund supports our First Responders Grant Round, which provides funding for education, training, and equipment needs for local first responders.

The A.L. Degel / R.L. Shambarger First Responders Fund supports our First Responders Grant Round, which provides funding for education, training, and equipment needs for local first responders.

Donald & Diana Thomas First Responders

The Donald and Diana Thomas First Responders Fund was established to commemorate the many years of service that Don Thomas dedicated to the first responder community. Funds are used to support the Carsonville-Port Sanilac Police, Fire, and EMS Support Services.

Sefton - Leggett Legacy

The Sefton - Leggett Legacy Fund was created to give back to the many individuals and organizations that make Sanilac County a safer, stronger, and more compassionate place to live. This fund provides support to the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Department, local breast cancer patients, Sanilac County veterans, and the Sanilac County Humane Society. Together, these efforts reflect a deep commitment to caring for our neighbors—protecting those who serve, uplifting those in need, honoring those who have sacrificed, and showing kindness to the animals who bring joy to our lives.
