FUMC - Eleanor Meadows Scholarship Fund
Purpose
The FUMC–Eleanor Meadows Scholarship Fund was established by Hinton First United Methodist Church in memory of Eleanor Meadows, a lifelong Summers County resident and Hinton High School graduate who spent her career teaching English at her alma mater. A lifelong learner, she continued her own education through summer studies at WVU and Marshall College. The scholarship supports graduating seniors and other graduates of Summers County schools pursuing education at an accredited college, university, or certified vocational/technical school in any state. Applicants must have maintained a minimum 2.5 GPA over their final four years of high school or college and provide written proof of acceptance. Preference is given to students with personal or family involvement in Hinton First United Methodist Church, and special consideration may be given to applicants with unique circumstances.
