About this Fund

Arly believed and the AKEF supports her belief that personalized attention and extra individualized support makes a difference. Tutoring provides a meaningful connection with an adult and customizes the learning environment to help improve academic performance, work and study habits as well as nourishing confidence over the long-term. Tutoring also provides many families with the support they need at home.

The goal is to narrow the gaps and bring the students up to grade level in the BVSD. Our tutoring experiences have demonstrated the positive impact of preparing learners for the college application process and it has led to college acceptance.

Teachers rated the projects 100% effective. In 2024-2025, 449 students were involved in tutoring programs in 1st through 12th grade. 96% of grantees reported that the project was effective in reaching its goals and 99% reported that their project improved resources, support and opportunities in their school.

The following schools received tutoring funding from AKEF: Alicia Sanchez Elementary, Adelante at Boulder High, Birch Elementary, Louisville Middle School, Manhattan School of Arts and Academics, Casey Middle School, Gold hill, and Mesa Elementary.

We are continuing Arly’s legacy and belief that all children are gifted and can succeed if given a little help and individual attention along the way. We believe in the future of our community’s children. AKEF will match 1:1 every dollar contributed.
