RANKIN FAMILY EDUCATION FUND
Purpose
Rankin Family Education Fund, created by Del and Sara Rankin, provides additional funding to Yakima Valley Libraries for the established Plath Fund. This gift is motivated by the Rankin Family’s Yakima Valley Libraries patronage and the relationship Del had as the initial “Click” Relander Collection archivist under Lori Plath’s supervision. She was the longtime Reference Librarian and donor who, without taking credit, secured the Relander Collection from a Seattle book seller. Annual interest from the Rankin Family Education Fund will be transferred to Yakima Valley Libraries. It will assist current employees pursuing Master’s in Library Science and other educational opportunities. The same conditions for participants receiving scholarship reimbursement will apply toward their Library Science tuition as provided by the Plath Fund.
