NATIVE WOMEN IN ACTION FUND (MMIW)
Purpose
Native Women in Action works to bring awareness and resolution to issues around missing and murdered indigenous people and to assist the Yakima Nation tribal population living in and around the Yakima Reservation. Native Friends, led by Emily Washines, worked throughout the pandemic to collect and distribute resources such as nourishing food for elders, gas cards, and health safety information to people across the Yakima Reservation to protect and provide for those in need.
