Angels Gate Reserve Fund

Angels Gate Cultural Center (AGCC) is a place that unites art, community, and culture through creative discovery, exploration, and enlightenment. Our mission is to provide space for artists to work and to engage the community through arts education, exhibitions of contemporary art, and cultural events. We serve over 4000 elementary school students in Long Beach and LAUSD with arts residencies each year. The Center emerged from a group of San Pedro artists in the 1970s that created artist studios and exhibition space within the 1940’s era Army barracks of Angels Gate Park. The core of AGCC arts education programming is the Artists-in-Classroom (AIC) program, which places professional artists in classrooms to provide an enriched skill-based arts education. Angels Gate Cultural Center is home to four galleries, focused on showcasing new works by contemporary artists. AGCC pursues opportunities to hire outside curators and commission artists in its effort to support the vibrancy of Southern California’s art landscape.

Arts Council for Long Beach Fund

Donate now to the “Creative Communities Arts Fund” and support our microgrant program. Microgrants are awarded monthly and available year-round until funding is depleted for the fiscal year. Projects must be free, open to the public, and benefit Long Beach residents. Worthy projects will support community representation and cultural respect, encourage cultural diversity, and/or enhance underserved communities, neighborhoods, or populations of Long Beach. Artists who are looking for professional development to enhance an organization’s operations or their ability to serve the Long Beach residents may also apply for a microgrant. Since the Arts Council for Long Beach was founded 40 years ago – on September 22, 1976 – the nonprofit organization has funded hundreds of artists, organizations, and education programs. It has advocated for increased arts funding in addition to promoting the city’s arts and culture. Currently, we deliver arts education to thousands of schoolchildren, place college students in internships, connect artists to opportunities within and outside of Long Beach, convene discussions and celebrations about art, and much more. Since 2000, the Arts Council has granted more than $13 million to Long Beach artists, organizations, and community projects, and through arts education programs, reached more than 36,000 Long Beach Unified School District youth. Serving Long Beach’s flourishing arts and cultural scene is a tall – and fun – order, therefore, we are committed to growing community partnerships by increasing our microgrant funding.

Dr. Grant and Debbie Uba Fund

Dr. Grant & Debbie Uba believe that young people can do great things when given the opportunity, so with their help, the Boys & Girls Club of Long Beach established the Dr. Grant and Debbie Uba Fund to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach. Thanks to this fund, Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach are able to award some of their exceptional teens with scholarships to college. The teens tend to come for unfortunate situations and, with the help of the programs at the Clubs, have been able to become great students, active Club members, and exceptional leaders in their community. For 80 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach has been providing the most affordable and high-quality after-school programs to the most at-risk and vulnerable youth in Long Beach. With 11 Clubs throughout Long Beach, they give over 3,000 Club members a safe place to connect with role models and make friends, a quiet place to do homework, and a family-orientated place to enjoy a warm, nutritious meal (which for some, is the only food they will eat that evening). Programs are designed to help Club members become great leaders, aspire to attend college, find a great career, and live a healthy, confident, and active life. Your donation to the Dr. Grant & Debbie Uba Fund helps the Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach close the opportunity gap, fill the mentorship void, keep kids safe, and help kids achieve their dreams.

Long Beach Opera Endowment Fund

Long Beach Opera’s mission is to engage people through provocative, meaningful experiences that challenge, connect, and inspire. Your donation to the Long Beach Opera’s fund at the LBCF will help bring music and art to the community and support the Long Beach Opera’s education and outreach initiatives. Founded in 1979, the Long Beach Opera is the oldest operatic producing company in the metropolitan Los Angeles/Orange County region. LBO’s history demonstrates that its essential purpose is the advancement of the frontiers of opera, in repertory and in production style. LBO’s artistic vision is to present unconventional works – repertoire which is neglected by other, more mainstream opera companies – ranging from the very beginnings of opera to modern, avant-garde works, emphasizing their theatrical and musical relevance to our time.

Riley Parker Musical Arts Endowment Fund

Thank you for contributing to the Riley Parker Musical Arts Endowment Fund. This fund was established in memory of Riley Parker. Riley Parker’s presence was palpable and his expression of love was tangible, especially when directed to his family; it just poured out to them. Riley was passionate, authentic, personable, charismatic, funny, creative, and cherished his faith in God. His cheerful grin, soft eyes, and soulful voice offered music to many ears during his life. He was a true Long Beach guy who treasured his mom, dad, brother Brit, and sisters Delani and Presley. He was their one-man cavalry. Riley enjoyed the simple pleasures of life including a dip in Alamitos Bay, writing a catchy tune, or just hanging out with his family over a home-cooked meal. He proudly worked at Joe Jost’s and performed around Long Beach and Seal Beach with his band, Riley P and the Regs. Riley remains the heartbeat of his family and fills their souls with his amazing legacy. They miss his extraordinary, remarkable energy every day but have chosen to be inspired by his memory through the pursuit of meaningful endeavors to honor and further his love of music. In doing so they created this fund, the Riley Parker Musical Arts Endowment which will provide a yearly gift to the Jazz Angels who will directly benefit from donations made here. The Jazz Angels are a local nonprofit organization that creates opportunities for young people to hear and learn about jazz, encourages them to play an instrument, and provides opportunities for them to perform.
