Alger & Edna Abbey Scholarship Fund

Alger Abbey established the Alger & Edna Abbey Endowed Scholarship Fund, to provide financial assistance to a trade school, community college or university-bound student who previously attended the school district that serves the Lakeview community (currently Lakeview Community Schools) and has decided to continue his/her education to earn a certificate, license or degree in a vocational or industrial arts field of study. Mr. Abbey, after some experience, followed his heart and earned his living working in the construction business. He would like to support other young people to do the same.

Lakeview Community Schools Band Instrument Fund

The purpose of the Lakeview Community Schools Band Instrument Fund is to provide grants to the Lakeview Community Schools Band program for purchase of instruments, exclusively, in honor of Lawrence (Larry) Padden. Mr. Padden was always a strong supporter of the LCS Band program and also a professional Tenor Saxophone player, so the intent of the donors is that grants from this fund support the purchase of band instruments for the Lakeview High School band program but also music development programs in the children in the Lakeview area if the high school band program should ever cease to exist.
