M. Jerry Weiss Fund for Young Adult Literature in Schools

Purpose
Distributions from this fund are made to the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), which shall award the distribution to a teacher or librarian who has demonstrated exemplary use of young adult literature in their school. The award recipient shall be required to use the award to acquire young adult books of their choosing for their classroom or school library. The award shall not be used to acquire textbooks. In the event that NCTE ceases to exist, SACF will provide distributions to a regional or national organization with focus on young adult literature which would be able to continue the program under the model set with NCTE. An appropriate organization would be comprised of educators and/or school librarians.
