Scholarship Program for Women Educators Fund

Fund Purpose
Provide support for one or more annual scholarships for women educators for a minimum of $500 in Lenawee County, Michigan, the following criteria 1. Applicant must be a female resident of Lenawee County. 2. Applicant may be pursuing a degree in the field of education with a completion of at least 48 undergraduate credit hours at an accredited Michigan College of Education or an institution with a reciprocal agreement. 3. Undergraduates applicants must be enrolled full-time and submit a copy of college transcripts, demonstrating a minimum of a 3.0 grade point average. 4. Graduate applicants do not need to be enrolled full-time. They need to submit documentation that they are pursuing certification and/or a graduate degree in the field of education. 5. Applicant must submit an essay describing educational goals and career plans, work experience, volunteer and community service experiences, and research projects at the university level. 6. Scholarship may be renewable at the discretion of the committee, up to four years. Applicant needs to apply for a renewal and meet the eligibility requirement each year. 7. Scholarship committee will consist of Linda and Darrell Polter and a committee of at least three women educators. If the committee cannot be maintained, the Lenawee Community Foundation will select the recipients.
