Pottstown Play Streets
Pottstown Play Streets is a seasonal, award-winning program that transforms neighborhood streets into vibrant community hubs. The program temporarily closes local blocks to traffic and activates them with free play equipment, hands-on activities, and partner-led outreach. 18 of these events have been held since Summer 2022 serving a total audience of 1,567. There are five Play Streets events scheduled for Summer 2025. By bringing recreation and resources directly into neighborhoods, the program creates safe, engaging spaces for kids to play and families to connect, right outside their doors.
Pottstown Play Streets is led by the Borough of Pottstown Parks and Recreation Department. They are part of an annual Pottstown Play Streets Coalition convened by the Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation. The coalition works together to provide this program to Pottstown residents.
