Fly Me to the Foon Scholarship Fund
This scholarship provides funding to music students at Oakland School for the Arts to help purchase musical instruments and/or pay for private music lessons to enhance their skills.
East Bay Community Foundation’s Scholarships Program allows us to support the success of East Bay children and youth through funds established for any level of study, from preschool to postgraduate. Funds can support any area of educational expenses, including tuition, housing, books, supplies, and other educational fees. Award funds used for expenditures outside of tuition, fees, books, and required supplies may be taxable. Awards are typically paid directly to the institution providing instruction.
About this Scholarship Fund
The Fly Me To The Foon Scholarship honors the memory of Neel Thomas Foon, musician, mentor and friend. This scholarship provides funding to music students at Oakland School for the Arts to help purchase musical instruments and/or pay for private music lessons to enhance their skills. Four scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded to enrolled students of OSA each year (two middle school and two high school students).
Applications are accepted from September to October.
