Genesis House GIFT VIII Matching Grant Initiative

Harrison County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition DBA Genesis House’s mission is to foster long-term recovery for women addicted to alcohol and other substances, thus improving the quality of life in our community by improving the quality of life for individual community members.
Fund Impact
Harrison County Community Foundation has received a matching fund grant totaling $750,000 as part of the eighth phase of Lilly Endowment Inc.’s Initiative, Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow (GIFT VIII).

HCCF will use the funding to support a Community Project related to Residential Substance Abuse Recovery Programs. Lilly Endowment Inc. has allotted $75,000 for this part of the Matching Funds Grant.

How the Matching Fund Program works:
To reach the overarching goal, the goal is to meet the $75,000 cumulatively. This would be the total amount for entities participating. If one entity raises more funds, it will receive more benefits on a first-come, first-served basis.

All donations must be designated directly to participating entities: Freed From Within, Harrison County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition DBA Genesis House, or House of New Beginnings, and paid directly to/via HCCF. Participating entities can use qualifying donations in this scenario as unrestricted funds, which will pass through HCCF and be matched 1:1 by Lilly Endowment Inc. *This is not an Endowment Fund. Funds will be dispersed directly to the designated organization(s) on a quarterly basis.
